The client’s brief called for a simple, clean look with spacious open-plan living.  The master bedroom suite at one end of the house is separated from the 2 ensuite bedrooms at the other end by the airy, high-ceilinged Great Room.  Opening south across a verdant valley, the hilltop villa commands a beautifully landscaped 3-acre lot in One of the Dominican Republic north coast’s premiere residential communities.  Paddock and shelter for two horses complement the rural flavor of the area.  Ease of maintenance was high on the client’s wish-list and materials used reflect this reality.  A 4kw solar array with 2-way meter and large inverter assures uninterrupted power while solar hot water heating, 10,000 gallon roof-fed cistern and LED lighting keep energy costs low.
